The talks surrounding a merger between the two major education centres have suffered a break down. The initial merger was planned to take place as close a September 2010, however the colleges clashed over the further education program – it now appears the College of Music will instead pursue a merger with the University of Bradford. It believes this will provide the best opportunities for the 1,500 part time and 1,000 full time students currently in attendance.
